While our heart lies in the behavioral health community and expanding the prevalence of trauma-informed, gender-responsive care in all sectors, we have continually sought opportunities to connect with the local community. ![Nonprofit Stories: The Community Film Series](https://blog.womensconsortium.org/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/555203_d328d0174813472c91d7076191a394c5~mv2.jpg?width=412&name=555203_d328d0174813472c91d7076191a394c5~mv2.jpg)One such initiative is our Community Film Series, a free series which seeks to engender conversation on critical issues by bringing together panels of advocates, experts, policy makers, and community members (like the one pictured above) and providing them with a basis for debate.     As detailed under the [Community Film Series](https://www.womensconsortium.org/community-film-series) tab on our official website: > “As a part of our vision of eliminating discrimination and promoting excellence in our behavioral health system, we offer thought-provoking documentaries on various topics. Past films have touched on mental health, trauma, addiction, incarceration, recovery, community integration, and other critical social issues. Our Community Film Series is designed to stimulate connections, raise awareness, increase knowledge, and encourage dialogue about contemporary issues impacting our communities. > > Films are free and open to all. Light refreshments are available starting at 5:00pm and films start at 5:30pm. All screenings are followed by panel discussions and question and answer sessions. > > Please join us to connect with those who share your concerns and curiosity about our world.” Past films have included [Generation Found,](http://generationfoundfilm.com/) [Inside My Heart](https://giustrafoundation.org/programs/special-projects/inside-my-heart/), and — canceled due to the pandemic — [Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools](https://pushoutfilm.com/). All these films are available — at various price points — for individual viewing.
